Brighten with Bulbs is a small organisation with community links supporting people suffering with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).
We offer access to light therapy to increase mood and reduce anxiety during the darker months in the northern hemisphere and encourage participants to also plant bulbs to have colour to look forward to and to enjoy all the colours during the winter bulb season.
Research supports that working with soil, the task of planting and dates to look forward to as the flowers come together and with access to light boxes and light during the day when possible all contribute to a feeling of well-being and hope.
Our main aim is to spread the word and to attract funds to buy bulbs, soil, small garden equipment tools, pots, reusable garden sacks and light boxes/SAD lamps.
Links with community and well being organisations will be provided but also some individuals will prefer to access on their own to start with, any access will be supported.
Small changes to support increased mood and reduce anxiety and to brighten days during the winter months.
