Located in the picturesque Scarcroft, North Leeds, Scarcroft Cricket Club Junior Academy is a prestigious institution dedicated to cultivating young cricketing talent. Our elite junior cricket program is designed to help children from the age of 7 reach their full potential in the sport. With a strong performance ethos at our core, and a deep connection to our diverse local community, we are committed to excellence in cricket and the development of a cricketing institution where everybody is welcome.

Boasting numerous representative players, including stars who have played for Yorkshire teams, our academy stands as a testament to success and skill development. We hope to grow our reputation further, as we develop our infrastructure and offer new opportunities to young players from the area. Our junior program has gone from strength-to-strength since the Covid-19 pandemic, growing year after year, and we expect to work with around 150 juniors in 2024.

Our commitment to inclusivity is a key pillar to our club and our community, extending beyond the field. We proudly welcome young cricketers of all genders, ethnicities, religions and backgrounds - creating a vibrant and diverse community where everyone is valued. Our academy is a place where differences are not just accepted, but celebrated.

SCC serves as a vibrant local hub where people from various communities can come together to meet, collaborate, and build lasting relationships. We host regular events, workshops, and social gatherings that bring together individuals from diverse backgrounds, fostering a spirit of unity and mutual support. By providing a common ground for interaction and shared experiences, our club plays a crucial role in strengthening community ties and promoting social cohesion. Our facilities and programs are designed to be accessible and welcoming to all, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to engage, participate, and contribute to our collective success.

Our commitment to performance and achievement is unwavering. We believe in pushing boundaries and setting new benchmarks in junior cricket. Under the expert guidance of the father-son duo, Ghulam and Mustafa Rafique of Cricademia, our academy offers first-class coaching. Their experience and passion for cricket translate into a profound impact on our young athletes.

Our teams actively participate in the Leeds and Wetherby and Aire Wharfe League, offering our players valuable competitive exposure and the opportunity to hone their skills in a challenging and supportive environment.

Why are we Crowdfunding?

At Scarcroft Cricket Club Junior Academy, we pride ourselves on providing the best possible facilities. We want to create a state-of-the-art training environment is equipped to cater to the needs of budding cricketers, ensuring they have everything they need to excel.

Just ask them!

How we’ll Spend the Money Raised

We are raising funds for a new all-weather practice net facility with three lanes and three hybrid cricket wickets to ensure that our games are played in the best possible conditions. Once we have secured funding for this project, we will look to add a digital scoreboard and a frog box to enable us to live stream games to our parents and loved ones who aren't always able to attend.

We are looking to say goodbye to our longstanding, outdated net-on-wheels (below) and upgrade our facilities significantly in order to offer our young players a platform to develop their cricket at a higher level.
