We're still collecting donations

On the 2nd July 2022 we'd raised £55,787 with 193 supporters in 56 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

 New stretch target

Thanks to the absolutely amazing support we’ve received we have managed to achieve our £30k target in less than 2 weeks since opening the Crowdfunding page.

We are all absolutely overwhelmed with the response and thankful from the bottom of our hearts to every single person that has supported us!

We’ve set our stretch target at £55k. Any funds we are lucky enough to raise over our initial £30k target will be utilised towards the extra facilities we need to achieve Tier 3 status at our ground. This will include running electric to the field which has an approximate cost of £15k and to install catering facilities for matchdays which has an approximate cost of £10k.

Thank you all once again for your support so far. This will allow us to make a massive difference to our home and our community.

Who are we?

Tonyrefail BGC has provided football to the local community since 1992. The club runs a total of 15 football teams from Under 5s all the way through to the Senior teams - with over 300 registered players. The Senior team have recently won promotion to the South Wales Alliance Premier League.

Community impact

Our town name, Tonyrefail, derives from the Welsh meaning 'the forge on the meadow'. A forge represents energy, fire, intensity and change - just like our club!

Tonyrefail BGC is a place where players, coaches, voluteers, supporters and the community come together to create the energy needed to shape future generations for the better. This is our purpose.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Everything at our club starts with our home pitch - located at Tyn Y Bryn park. We have seen amazing progress being made on the pitch with player development accelerating better than ever through the hard work and dedication from the coaching staff. Taking care of our home has been a challenge due to vandalism but despite this we have managed to work with the the local council, volunteers and local businesses to help not only to maintain our home but to improve it with a path that spans the whole pitch as well as secure fencing of the perimeter - both of which were fabulous achievements for the club. This has been amazing for our supporters, but we are ready to make the next big step with changing our home forever.

How we’ll spend the money raised

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP...

This summer, we wish to purchase a new 100-seater stand and new dugouts for the home and away teams. Planning permission has been granted and we need some help in raising the funds needed to make this dream a reality! The club has raised £20k that will go towards this project ...but we need to raise an extra £30k.

The upgrades to the pitch will mean that we are able to achieve 'Tier 3' criteria needed to support future promotions for the Senior team but this project will mean much more than that for our club.

The stand will be the first ever to appear next to our pitch located in Tyn-Y-Bryn park. A huge milestone for the club and a testament to all those who have supported us through the years. The stand is not just progress, it represents support, togetherness, our values both as a club and a community.

The project will stand to inspire new players to join and current teams to push for major honours and promotions while building a special relationship with the supportive fans and community every game we play.

Finally, it will help positively shape and mould the next generation of people of Tonyrefail and wider communities. Together, we can achieve great things and share success along the way.
