Hello!
We are the Nornour Gig Rowing Crew 2024 from the Isles of Scilly.
Our wonderful crew member Hannah was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Hannah was due to travel Australia nearly 10 years ago at 27, however just before her departure she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. After life changing procedures she put these plans on hold of travelling and moved back to the Isles of Scilly.
At 36 and with her Australian and NZ visas soon to expire, she decided now was the time to go for it again. In a cruel twist of fate, just before departing once again, Hannah found a lump and was told her Breast Cancer had returned once again putting her travel plans and life back on hold.
As Hannah undergoes the horrendous process of operations, chemotherapy and recovery over the coming months we have decided to raise funds for Hannah to have something to look forward to.
Hannah didn't want any donations for her to personally benefit from, but wanted to be able to set a goal of walking the Camino De Santiago in aid of Breast Cancer Research and raise funds herself for Charity.
So here we are, a crowd funder to help her get there. If we exceed our goal of what she needs, the remaining balance will go into her Breast Cancer Research fundraising pot to be donated to Breast Cancer Research UK as well as the Mermaid Centre at Treliske where many women based in Scilly going through Breast Cancer Treatments are looked after.
We ask to please donate where you can, every donation big or small will aid us to help Hannah with her mission to walk the Camino Del Santiago in aid of Breast Cancer Research.
Thank you so much.
Meg & Maisie xx
