In memory of Dean and Charlie Lowe

On Saturday 5th August, Dean and Charlie Lowe sadly lost their lives after being struck by a van whilst walking home on La Rue De Fauvic. Despite the efforts of the neighbours and the emergency services, they were unable to save them.

Dean was a family man, adoring Dad to Charlie, fiancé to Ashleigh and only child of Kay and Ernie. Collectively they were his pride and joy.

Dean can only be described as larger than life, a gentle caring man whose fun and laughter would fill the room, leaving a mark on all those that he met. A talented musician, born entertainer with a heart of gold.

Dean was Jersey Employment Trust’s greatest ambassador, an Employment Coordinator and more recently an Employer Engagement Manager, working tirelessly to promote JET’s services across the Island. He was an advocate of inclusion and a community champion granting equal opportunities to all in need, giving those with a difference the platform to be a part of society by empowering them to succeed in life and reach their full potential in achieving their goals.

Charlie, much like his Dad and his Mum Ashleigh, had a wicked sense of humour, a witty and bright young boy whose potential was endless. He was understanding, compassionate and kind with a smile that bought joy to all those around.

Charlie was not your average 11 year old boy, he was not driven by toys or the latest clothes, he valued adventure and experiences, making memories with his friends and family. A boy with the biggest heart, he would always be the first to greet you, running towards those he loved with open arms.

From a young age, Charlie was fascinated by nature and animals and was often found to be sharing his knowledge about different species with his family, friends. 

Charlie was a pupil at St Clements School, a talent and passion for performing in amateur dramatics. He exuded confidence, shone on stage and lit up every room he entered.

Ashleigh and family are most grateful for the messages of condolence and gestures of kindness that they have received from their relatives, friends and the wider community in Jersey. It is their wish to honour Dean and Charlie’s memory by continuing to support their passions in life.

We ask that for those who may have been affected by this tragic event and wish to support further, provide a donation that can be used to help their family and also to benefit young amateur dramatics and disadvantaged communities in the Island with a view of giving aspiring entertainers, musicians and drama students a chance to shine, allowing for further education and tuition to pursue their hobbies and of course to continue to aid the development of those with learning disabilities.

UPDATE:

Our family are overwhelmed with the support that has been given in reaching the initial target of £25,000 in just 24 hours, and we wish to extend our gratitude for everyone’s generosity. We have extended the fund raising target in the hope of raising as much money as possible in memory of Dean and Charlie to support the causes they were so passionate about.
