#SaveOurVenues - a national initiative led by the Music Venue Trust to prevent the closure of 100's of independent music venues.

As lockdown measures lift, the future of many venues and the people that make them work  remains uncertain.

In an effort to prevent the closure of Omeara and protect the wellbeing of our extended family, as well as ensuring we are still here on the other side of all of this to host artists again; we’ve reached out to artists, dug into the vault, spoken to everyone from our cocktail makers, suppliers, engineers, chefs and promoters to do what they do best… get creative and think of experiences we can open up to our community to show your support, as well as creating some special moments along the way!

As part of the initiative, the venue is proud to be working alongside award-winning British designer Louise Goldin. A long-standing favourite of the global world of fashion, Louise has worked alongside the likes of artists such as Kanye West, From Yeezy to Omeara, the venue is honoured to collaborate with Louise on a limited edition run of t-shirts and hoodies.

Alongside Louise, we’ve also worked with our friends at renowned NY fashion brand La Ligne to design some very tasteful, branded face masks. We’re all going to be wearing face masks at shows for the foreseeable, and so should you. Stay safe and stay stylish. Again, these are a limited edition run, and we’re very excited to be their label’s first face mask collaboration.

Beyond the world of fashion, the Omeara lucky dip will also offer up the opportunity to win tickets (+1) to attend almost every future show that Omeara hosts, a “supper club” night for friends at British tapas’ finest London restaurant (and our neighbours) Lupins before a night out at Omeara, or a complete takeover of Flat Iron Square to have the most ridiculous party ever dreamed of.

In addition to the rewards listed above, the incredible Music Venue Trust will donate £20 to our crowdfunder for every 'Save Our Venues T-Shirt' purchased.

Further prizes include a private cocktail masterclass for a winner and ten pals by legendary London mixologist Ernest Reid (with bottomless sampling held at The Siding – Omeara’s gallery space), or even a Zoom call with one of the venue’s in-house cocktail specialists, taking the winner through their drinks cabinet to help them make the tastiest cocktails no matter what’s leftover.

So whether it's buying one of our new limited edition hoodies, dining experiences from Flat Iron Square, or your very own full take over of the space, every single contribution will make a difference…

We are very grateful to have received a lifeline from the DCMS / UK Government in the form of a Culture Recovery Fund grant (administered by Arts Council England). Since its launch in 2016, Omeara and our team of bar staff, engineers, management and curators have been dedicated to delivering the best possible experience for artists and fans that we possibly can. So much passion and heart has been poured into this small business by so many, and your support to date has been what has made it all possible.

With over 500 artists taking our stage since our doors opened. We’re very proud of the intimate shows we’ve put on at Omeara for huge global names such as Beck, Kylie Minogue, Skepta, Laura Marling, Lewis Capaldi, Anne-Marie, Biffy Clyro and James Bay. Music Venue Trust, the charity which protects, secures and improves the UK’s grassroots music venues has launched #saveourvenues to draw together fundraising activity aimed at preventing the permanent closure of these vital venues due to COVID-19.

There are 556 venues at risk of closure, so this campaign aims to bring together artists who want to help with the venues they love, and provide an easy way for music fans to financially support the resultant live streams.

The idea behind #saveourvenues is to secure grassroots music venues one by one, as Frank Turner has been doing with his Independent Venue Love series of concerts.
