New stretch target
We don't qualify for any government funding as yet, or landlords have yet to offer any support through reduced rent, we are trying on both fronts but any extra money we raise will really help.
Also extra money, we don't use to keep us alive, will go towards live music in Huddersfield, we will utilise any money we have extra to make sure we provide the best live music experience we can, whether that be putting on events to help fellow Huddersfield venues, or festivals for the town. We are The Parish, we love Huddersfield, and we would love to be able to keep providing for it !

We are The Parish and we are an independent dive bar & live music venue in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. We have been trading as The Parish for 14 years. We have provided Live Music in vast quantities for vast amounts of people over that time, well in excess of 2000 bands have played in our little 170 cap venue and we want to be able to continue that long into the future.
The Problem
The problem is CORONAVIRUS and it threatens the closure of not just us but hundreds of independent live music venues all over the country. We are not a cash rich industry and we work from week to week, one week shut would cause us significant problems and 3 weeks shut would kill us.
Best estimates we have are that we could be shut for up to 12 weeks and that is not something we would survive at all. Our weekly outgoings of rent, rates, finance repayments, tax implications, wages are a considerable cost and we would not be able to meet them. We want to be able to keep our staff and be able to reopen when this is over and get back to normal as quickly as possible and that is where we are asking you to help!

We are an important part of Huddersfield & Yorkshires creative scene, we try really hard to get as many bands to play in a town that hasn't had a big music scene for years. We punch well above our weight and want to continue bringing you the best we can for as long as we can.

The Parish is a vibrant town centre bar, restaurant & venue based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. The Parish has been around for 14 years & has prided itself on bringing world class talent to Huddersfield via live music. In the time we've been open, we've welcomed acts such as Zebrahead, We Are Scientists, Loathe, The Bronx, The Sherlocks, While She Sleeps, Milburn, PUP, The Skints, And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, Mclusky, Coolio, The Sugarhill Gang, Akala, Lowkey, Lower Than Atlantis, Cancer Bats, Pigs x 7, A Certain Ratio, Warmduscher & lot's more. Known as one of the best Independently owned small venues in Yorkshire.
